I'd give these boots 5 stars without hesitation.
I've previously worn 5.11 ATAC boots through countless 12-hour shifts, and they are easily the most comfortable tactical boots I've worn to date. With more than 25 years in the security industry, I've tried a wide range of brands, and nothing has matched the comfort, durability, and support of these.
My current role requires protective toe boots, so I decided to purchase the 5.11 ATAC 8" Shield. They arrived promptly today. After getting home from work with sore, tired feet, I put them on straight out of the box and was genuinely impressed. They were immediately comfortable, so much so that I felt I could have gone straight back out and worked another full shift in them. That's saying something, considering they're brand new and already more comfortable than my old, well-worn work boots.
I'll be wearing them to work tomorrow with complete confidence. Based on my past experience with 5.11 and my first impressions of these boots, I expect them to perform flawlessly without causing any discomfort or hot spots during the break-in period.

5.11 ATAC 2.0 8” Shield Boot
Good light comfortable composite toe boot that I purchased for work and can easily wear all day.
Only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is they are flagged by airport scanners and you need to take them off.
