Bought these for my 5.11 Defender Flex Utility Jeans. As a bigger guy, dropping to a knee on concrete usually leaves me hobbling after a PRS match. However, these have just the right amount of padding—enough to absorb the impact and protect from small rocks and stray brass, but not so thick that I feel like I'm walking around with phonebooks strapped to my legs. In fact, they are so comfortable I leave them in even when I'm not at the range.
